The Office of Wellness and CARE would like to invite you to be a part of the effort to build support for those in recovery from substance use, misuse, and abuse.
The Campus Recovery Committee supports Kalamazoo College and the local higher education community through engagement, education, and support for those at any point in recovery from substance use, misuse, or abuse. The Committee’s goals are to:
- Develop initiatives, resources and programs to assist those at any point in their substance use recovery
- Foster a culture of understanding and destigmatize substance use dependence and addiction on our campus
- Review and recommend updates to campus policies and procedures regarding substance use, ensuring they are supportive, compassionate, and aligned with best practices for recovery and inclusion.
The Campus Recovery Committee is comprised of faculty, staff, and students. We meet monthly for 1 hour to engage in discussion and work towards the aforementioned goals. The meetings take place on the 4th Friday of each month at 2 p.m, virtually and in-person.
We welcome anyone to this space, whether you are currently in recovery yourself, have loved ones who are in recovery, you choose not to use substances for any reason or if you have a passion in making our community more supportive of those in recovery.
Please email Haley Mangette, Haley.Mangette@kzoo.edu, or fill out the Campus Recovery Committee Sign-Ups form to express your interest in participating in this committee.
